History
How it all began
Cathy, Irene, and Dustin met years ago when they shared a common interest in volunteering at a camp for children and adults with disabilities. Cathy, as a staff member, welcomed new volunteer, Irene, into her group and they became fast friends. Dustin was a little younger and was following in the footsteps of his big brother Jay. The Summer of 1990 was the beginning of a budding friendship that has lasted through today.
Through the years that common interest has evolved in to a passion to continue helping individuals with disabilities... and thus Camp Acorn began.
